Leo R. Katz Architect
Since receiving his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at the University of Arizona in 1988, Leo Katz has been designing thoughtful and innovative structures throughout Tucson and the Southwest region. Leo's primary passion is residential architectural design (including custom homes, remodels, additions, and historical restorations), as he finds working with clients to create their dream home an extremely rewarding process. Leo has designed dozens of residential projects encompassing a range of size, scale, location and complexity and views residential design as an opportunity to develop a livable aesthetic that provides comfort and embodies a sense of place and home. Leo also specializes in infill commercial projects that pose the challenge of integrating new designs into existing, and often restrictive, locations. He has substantial experience in re-zoning, variances, and development plans.
...in using alternative materials and systems whenever possible in order to promote conservation and a clean and sustainable environment.
...a building should be designed to both take advantage of, and protect against, the environmental elements like sun, wind, precipitation, and temperature fluctuations.
...ideal proportions exist between the scale, volume, area, mass, and solid to void ratio of a space that, when used correctly, create a more pleasant and  livable environment.

...each design should be unique in its expression of the architect's response to the functional, emotional, and aesthetic needs and desires of the client.
...a finished building should be a clear reflection of a cooperative process where the client and the architect create an environment that fulfills their collective vision.

Leo believes...
